Promise of Magick

[+]

Just a few excerpts from this thread

I knew Charles was feeding you ammunition, but I didn't believe either of you would be foolish enough to bring this topic back up; this is the most RIDICULOUS COMPARISON I've ever seen. PLEASE, everybody reading this post...go to the web site Harris linked to. Look at that ramp and gurney, and note the angle of the gurney as it travels up the ramp that is quite short and requires a lot less space to deploy than the SA ramp. Note that the gurney has four legs with wheels that are ALL SUPPORTED BY THE RAMP. Realize that these ramps are meant to load obese patients that are strapped to the gurney; they don't have to remain level. Imagine a portable ice bath (PIB) with a patient and a hundred pounds, or more, of ice and water doing the same thing. Unlike the gurney, the PIB must be kept LEVEL.

Now, go to the SA web site and see Platt's solution to this problem, (which I don't believe he initially anticipated, when designing the ramps). Click on "Equipment," and then scroll down and click on "More..." under the "Long Range Transport Vehicle" that should be an airplane. Look at the photos of Platt's girlfriend loading an EMPTY PIB. Note that, as it travels up the ramp, FOUR of the six legs/wheels are NOT supported by the surface of the ramp. The Platt "leveler" is clever, but quite "rinky-dink" and UNSAFE, at the same time. During the SA training sessions, the wheels that were raised above the surface did not always stay above the ramp. If the person holding the leveler had tripped, those legs would have missed the ramp completely, and the contents of the PIB would very likely have been spilled onto the ground. Platt also designed a tray that fits over the PIB, to transport meds and equipment, along with the patient. Most likely, these items are going to fall into the PIB, during loading, as the PIB does not stay as level as the photo-shoot indicates, during real operation. These photos are VERY deceptive. Charles staged this whole photo-shoot in response to my reports to Saul on the ramps and vehicles.

(I believe that Platt added the 1,000 mile limitation on the deployment of this vehicle after I drew Kent's attention to this issue. Even a thousand miles would take about 20-hours, in that vehicle. How many clients do they have within 1,000 miles? They only have about 30 clients scattered across the country.)

HARRIS: So call Alcor, and be the heroine who saved cryonics from its overspending. Show them how Platt was responsible for blowing millions which could have been spent on perfusionists. Money which, as you note, even now he spends on his cat babysitter in Arizona (damn you, Charles-- you never told me, and I have your cat).

The truth comes out. Charles would you please have that woman in Arizona forward all the cat-sitting fees to Dr. Harris? (Just why was that money paid by SA to a third-party, anyway?)

As for letting you critique any information I provide them with, that is up to them. However, if I were them, I'd be suspicious of anyone who is obviously a "hired pen" for a company some claim is out to steal Alcor's clients.
