CPlatt on squandering millions

[+]

"Even if Saul Kent really did squander millions on some fads and
follies (as has been alleged), why should this cause Regina
Pancake to get her knickers in such a twist?"

I wonder if feelings such as jealousy or envy played a part.
By real-world standards, $1 million per year is a very modest
burn rate for a startup trying to develop new equipment and
provide nationwide emergency service, yet to Regina (and to
MM) the expenditure seemed intolerable. Did she, so to speak,
feel that the money had fallen into the wrong hands? Should
it have fallen into the hands of people closer to home?

Regina may not be the only person in cryonics who feels that
instead of Charles Platt being allowed to squander millions
on a whim, an entity such as Jonesickle would be better
suited to do such squandering. Regina seems friendly with at
least half of Jonesickle, and of course she is counting on
Alcor to rescue her from her own mortality, which is no small
thing. Plus, I believe she works for Alcor in some capacity.
Can these personal considerations have anything to do with
the emotional component of her posts?
